Dennis Wayne Long

Dennis Wayne “Roadrunner” Long, 82, of Suthards, Kentucky passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 24, 2017. He was born in Hopkins County, Kentucky on March 21, 1935 to the late Dennis Charles and Verble Sue Crook Long.

He attended Suthards Missionary Baptist Church.

He owned and operated Long Trucking.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Long and two sisters, Hilda Barnes and Opal Swett.

He is survived by his wife Wanda Long of Suthards, Kentucky; two daughters, Sharon Renfro and her husband Robin of Hanson, Kentucky; Pamela Ferrell and her husband Timmy of White Plains, Kentucky; a son, Charles Wayne Long of Slaughters, Kentucky; two sisters, Fay Grable of Dawson Springs, Kentucky; Sue Fenwick of Henderson, Kentucky; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 27, 2017 at 11:00am at Reid Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, Kentucky with burial to follow at New Suthards Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 26,2017 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Reid Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, Kentucky and from 9:00am until service time on Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Nick Long, Cody Ferrell, Jamie Renfro, Travis Littlepage, Chase Dawson and Austin Vincent.

Reid Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, Kentucky is in charge of arrangements.
