William “Willie” Augustus Welch, 75, of Madisonville, KY passed away on October14, 2022 at his home.
He was born in Earlington, KY on June 10, 1947 to the late Thomas Felix and Ida Balance Welch.
Mr. Welch is a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Earlington, KY. He was a Vietnam Veteran while serving in the United States Air Force and later served in the National Guard. He was a member of the Hopkins County Honor Guard. Mr. Welch had worked as a lineman, installer, and a fiber optic splicer for Bellsouth/AT&T.
In addition to his parents he, was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Elizabeth Vandiver.
Mr. Welch is survived by his wife, Karol Kaye Welch of Madisonville, KY; his son, Nathan Travis (Rebecca) Welch of Madisonville, KY; one brother, Thomas James Welch of Cape Girardeau, MO; one grandchild, Siena Augusta Welch of Madisonville, KY.
A funeral mass will be held Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Earlington, KY with Father David Kennedy officiating and burial with military rites performed by the United States Air Force and the Hopkins County Honor Guard to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Earlington, KY.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY with recitation of the Rosary at 6:30 PM and from 12:00 PM until 1:30PM on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, Tunnel to Tower, St. Jude, or Shriners.
Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY is in charge of the arrangements.
