William “Bill” R. Fox, 92, of Earlington, KY passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson, KY.
He was born in Earlington, KY on June 10, 1928 to the late Lonnie L. and Artie Mae Fox.
Mr. Fox was a member of First Christian Church in Earlington, was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Korea. He was a member of Madisonville American Legion Post #6; a member of Forty and Eight with American Legion Post #6; a member of Madisonville VFW Post # 5480; and a member of the Fraternal Order of the Elks in Madisonville, KY.
He had worked as a coalminer for Providence #1 Mine.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Jean Fox in 2018; his sister, Clara B. Vaughn; and his brother, Dr. Robert B. Fox.
Mr. Fox is survived by his daughter, Susanne Walker and her husband, Arnold, of Dawson Springs, KY; two grandchildren: Joseph R. Walker and his wife, Amanda, and Amanda J. Newman and her husband, Casey; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY with Bro. Kim Hudson officiating and Barry Vaughn assisting and burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Earlington, KY. Military Rites will be performed graveside by the Hopkins County Honor Guard.
Visitation will be on July 15, 2020 from 12:00pm until service time at 2:00pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Mike Wyatt, Casey Newman, Ronnie Coffman, Joseph Walker, Jackson Newman, and Matt Vaughn. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim McDowell, Dickie Pendley , and Barry Vaughn
