Wayne Oakley

Wayne Oakley, 92, of Madisonville, KY passed away on May 29, 2025 at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville.

He was born on April 27, 1933 in Dixon, KY to the late Homer E. and Delilah Oakley.

Wayne was a member of Pritchett’s Chapel in Madisonville. He had served in the United States Navy.

He had retired from Charlais Coal Mines where he had worked as a coal miner. Wayne had also worked as a truck driver and a farmer.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Michael Martin.

Wayne is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Sandra Staton Oakley of Madisonville, KY; five children, Mike Morton of Summerfield, FL, Kay Brumfield of North Carolina, Carol Blake of Hanson, KY, David Oakley of Mortons Gap, KY, and Barbara Trask of Russellville, KY; one sister Mildred Baldwin of Hanson, KY ; thirteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two nieces and one nephew.

Services will be private at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, KY with Steve Terry officiating.  Military rites will be performed by the United States Navy and the Pennyrile Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Oakley to Prichett’s Chapel.
