Verda Helen (Vandiver) Tirey

Verda Helen Vandiver Tirey, 87, of Mortons Gap, KY passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville, KY.

She was born in White City, KY on October 5, 1934 to the late Chesley and Francis Vandiver. 

Mrs. Tirey was of the General Baptist faith and was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Tirey in 2010; her son, Ronald Edward Tirey; two sisters Marcella Farmer and Emily Knowles; and two brothers, “Tudor” Vandiver and William Vandiver.

Mrs. Tirey is survived by two daughters, Jannie Tirey of Mortons Gap, Ky and Delores Hayes and her husband, Paul, of Mortons, Gap, KY; her sister, Wanda Hancock of South Bend, IN; her brother, Wallace Vandiver of Anton, KY; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be private at Salem Church cemetery in Mortons Gap, KY.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
