Thomas O'Neil Yates

Thomas O’Neil Yates, 57, of Manitou, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Baptist Health Deaconess Hospital in Madisonville, KY.  He was born in Gilroy, California on March 27, 1965 to the late Larry Lawrence, Sr. and Sharon Yates of Madisonville, KY.

He worked in the Maintenance Department at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville, KY.

Mr. Yates was a member of the Local #633 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union.

In addition to his natural father, he was preceded in death by his adoptive father Roy L. Yates and his sister, Laurie Yates Adams.

He is survived by his Mother, Sharon Getz Yates; loving wife of 34 years, Rhonda Yates; his special daughter figure, Ashley Maerz of Madisonville, KY; two children, Deontae Peyton, and Alaya Campbell both of Madisonville; one sister, Jennifer (Tim) Wheelhouse of Hollister, CA; one brother, Jason (Desiree) Lawrence of Hollister, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY with Rev. Willard Walls officiating being assisted by Rev. Dennis Walls. Burial to follow at Grapevine Cemetery in Madisonville, Ky.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and from 10:00 AM until service time on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be:  Deontae Peyton, Wes McPherson, Robby Walker, Bobby Walker, Collin Epley, and Will Crick.  Honorary Pallbearers will be: Stanley Adams and Ny’eem Peyton.
