Shelby Ellis Ray Perkins, 79, of Barnsley, KY passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at his home.
He was born in Madisonville, KY on April 21, 1944 to the late Virgil and Margie Crick Perkins.
Shelby was a member of UMWA and had retired from Peabody Coal where he had worked as a miner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Pendley and Betty Heil; two great grandchildren, Chase Larkins and Bella Larkins.
Shelby is survived by his wife, Wanda Perkins of Barnsley, KY; three children, Sandra (Mark) Lovell of Dawson Springs, KY, Laurie (Triston) Crick of Earlington, KY, and William Perkins of Loretto, KY; one sister, Shirley Carroll of Deland, FL; one brother, Jeffrey Perkins of Barnsley, KY; two grandchildren, Jacob(Melissa) Larkins of Morganfield, KY and Trevor Crick of Houston, TX; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY with Bro. Ralph Alexander officiating and burial to follow at New Beulah Cemetery in Beulah, KY.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Larkins, Jon Thompson, Michael Thompson, Jon Carroll, Mark Minton, Michael Wright. Honorary Pallbearers will be Matthew Minton and Trevor Crick
