Richard Thurman Martin, II of Madisonville, KY passed away on May15,2025 at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville, KY.
He was born on August 25, 1944 in New London, CT to the late Patrick Martin and Velma Ackley.
Richard was a member of Covenant Community Church. He had served in the United States Navy. He was the Carry and Conceal Instructor in Hopkins County, and a lifetime member of the NRA.
He had retired from Ft. Campbell Civil Service where he had worked as a director in outdoor recreation, roads, and grounds; he was a Housing Engineer; and had worked for the Hopkinsville Police Department as a police officer.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, of many years, Cheryl; his sisters, Tricia Martin, Jayne Martin, and Dian Rivera.
Richard is survived by his son, Richard Martin III and his wife, Anna, of Murfreesboro, TN ; four grandchildren, Kayla, Lee, Allan, and Erica; one great grandchild, Haisley; close friend and caregiver, Lisa Keown; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.
