Paul Phillips, after serving in the U.S. Navy, enjoyed two successful careers. As a young man, he worked as a tradesman as a pipefitter. He would proudly point out barges on the Mississippi River for which he had welded the hull. His second career, his true calling, was in the insurance business. Paul’s dynamic, positive personality was a perfect fit until an early retirement due to health issues.
Paul loved life and shared his passions with friends and family. He was an accomplished outdoorsman. He truly enjoyed his time in nature, hunting, camping, and fishing. Those of us who shared that time with him appreciated his joy. In those moments, in the wilderness, he would take the time to ponder God’s glory and share it with his companion.
Paul surrounded himself with friends for card games and pool and entertained with countless lively stories.
Always a man of faith, Paul was baptized in the Catholic Church. He will be missed by many.
