John Corum West

John Corum West, 81, of Hanson, KY passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023 at his home.
He was born in Madisonville, KY on January 2, 1942 to the late William Gaston West Jr. and Lyle Waller Corum West Casner.  
Mr. West was of the Methodist faith and had worked as a surveyor for Associated Engineers. He had lived in Hopkins County KY all his life and was a 1961 graduate of Madisonville High School. Mr. West enjoyed playing the guitar and banjo, was a woodworker, and repaired watches. 
 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Lee Gribble West in 2022 and his brother, William Gaston West III.
Mr. West is survived by his two children, Susan Eizenga and her husband, Daniel, of Hanson, KY and Ellen Cox and her husband, Scott, of Louisville, KY; five grandchildren: Martha Eizenga, Jonas Eizenga, Ruth Eizenga, Cordelia Cox, and Samuel Cox; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Monday, May 1, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Oakwood Cemetery in Earlington, KY with Bro. Tony Lipford officiating. 
There will be no visitation.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Thomas and Frank Corum.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Historical Society of Hopkins County.
Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY is in charge of the arrangements.
