Joan Poremski Morse , 97, of Madisonville, KY passed away on February 7, 2026 at Beaver Dam Nursing and Rehab in Beaver Dam, KY.
She was born on April 21, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Edward and Magdeline Poremski.
Joan was a homemaker. She was a faithful servant, a beloved, and active parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for decades. Joan enjoyed playing Bridge, was a voracious reader, an artist of oil painting and an accomplished seamstress. She also enjoyed swimming and became a black belt of Karate at sixty-two years old.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Thornton Morse; one sister; and two brothers.
Joan is survived by six children; Cheryl Morse-Anderson of Unicoi, TN , Colleen(Larry) Edmiston of Owensboro, KY, Cathy(Don Graff) Morse of Cumming GA, Chuck (Deborah) Morse of Hartford, KY, Chris(Linda) Morse of Hartford, KY, and Craig(Laura Malone) Morse of Evansville, IN; two brothers, Dan Poremski of Apollo, PA and Don Poremski of Uniontown, OH; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 11:00AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Earlington, KY with Father Bruce Fogle officiating assisted by Father David Kennedy and burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Earlington, KY.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM with the Rosary at 7:30PM, and on Friday, February 13, 2026 from 9:00AM until 10:30 AM at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Bauer, Kent Clouse, Kellen Gidcumb, Ben Graff, Kyle Graham, and Noah Holcombe.
Memorial contributions will be Hopkins County Library. 425 E. Center Street Madisonville, KY 42431
