James "Jimmy" Owen Suthard, 70, of Citrus Springs, FL, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024, at his home. He was born in Hopkins County, KY, on May 18, 1954, to the late Thurman Odell Suthard and Dorothy Mae Suthard. Jimmy was a devoted man of God, living his life according to his Christian faith. He worked as an Electrical Engineer for many years, providing for his family. Most recently, he was contracted as the lead Electrical Engineer by Duke Energy in Florida. Jimmy had a passion for golf and made it a point to return to his hometown of Kentucky every year to participate in the Eli Baron golf tournament held at the Madisonville County Club. He cherished spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, always seeking new adventures and spreading God's love to everyone he met.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his aunt, Mary Smith; his sister, Patsy Daugherty and her husband, Roger Daugherty; his brother-in-law, Buck Lamb; and a nephew, Scott Lamb. He is survived by his wife, Roxie Suthard, and their three children: Jason Suthard of Madisonville, KY; Bethany Suthard of Corpus Christi, TX; and Austin Suthard of Bowling Green, KY. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Jesse Suthard, Levi Suthard, Jaxon Flores, and Phoenix Flores. Jimmy is also survived by his sister, Barbara Lamb, and his niece, Amy Daugherty, along with his nephew, David Lamb, and many other great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY, with Bro. Todd Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Lake Grove Cemetery in St. Charles, KY.
Visitation will take place on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY, and on Saturday, June 15, from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
The pallbearers will be Austin Suthard, Eli Polley, Larry Pendergraff, Rick Bryant, David Lamb, and Roy Pace. Jesse Suthard and Levi Suthard will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, and considering the travel involved, please consider offering monetary support to Jimmy's wife, Roxie Suthard, to assist with funeral expenses.
