James Everett Hale, 81,of Madisonville. Passed away on Tuesday, March 6th, 2018, at Brighton Cornerstone Healthcare in Madisonville. He was born in Charleston, Kentucky to the late James Bernice Hale and Clara McGregor Hale.
He was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church, Senior Citizens Center, sang with the Gospel Sounds Group, he volunteered for the Salvation Army, taught Sunday school and was a song leader. He was the president of the Residence Council at Brightons Cornerstone Nursing Home, and he served in the United States Navy.
He had worked at Browning Springs Middle School as a Custodian.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Dean Gipson Hale, two brothers, William Shelby Hale, and Darrell Martin Hale.
He is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Massey of Earlington, Roxanne Mason with her husband Steve Mason of Smyrna, Tennessee, one son, James Daniel Hale of Madisonville, one brother, Melvin Dale Hale, of Madisonville and several nieces and nephews as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be on March 8th, 2018 at 2:00pm at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY with Rev. Len Young officiating and burial to follow at Concord General Baptist Church Cemetery in Manitou, KY. Graveside military rites will be performed by the Hopkins County Honor Guard.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 7th,2018 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm and on Thursday, March 8th, 2018 from 10:00am until 2:00pm.
Pallbearers will be: Christopher Massey, Matthew Massey, Clinton Gipson, Cody Gipson, Steve Mason, and Steve Webster.
