Elizabeth “Liz” Carolyn Bailey, 81, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024 at her home.
She was born in Hopkinsville, KY on April 3, 1943 to the late James Thomas, Sr. and Bonnie Chloynne “Ma” Jones.
She was a member of Suthards Missionary Baptist Church in Suthards, KY. She enjoyed cooking, being outdoors, gardening, animals, and UK Wildcat Basketball. Liz retired from Stewart Home in Frankfort where she had worked as a teacher.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Charlyne Danielson, Ollie Mae (Kit) Fulcher, Jimmy Jones, J.D. Jones, Frank Jones, Melvin (ML) Jones, Charlie Jones, and Johnny Jones.
Liz is survived by her daughter, Tammy Elizabeth Ratliff of Madisonville, KY; her companion and best friend of thirty years, Brenda Bloodworth of Madisonville, KY; one brother, Wendell Jones of Carbondale, KY; one grandson, Kyle Wayne Green and his wife, Sarah; four great grandchildren, Krissa Lynn Green, Caleb Wayne Green, Micah Jacob Green, and Wrenly Faina Green.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY with Bro. Dennis Mayfield officiating and burial to follow at New Suthards Cemetery in Suthards, KY.
Visitation will be on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Wayne Green, Caleb Wayne Green, Gary Keith Scott, Bradley Glenn Jones, Van Cole Jones, and Matthew Logan Jones. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tammy Elizabeth Ratliff, Kathy Lynn Jones, Kellie Jo Windle, and Luke Park Jones.
