Barbara Thomas (Stokes) Davis

Barbara Thomas Stokes Davis, 98, of Earlington, KY passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Oak Ridge Retirement Center in Madisonville, KY. She was born in Earlington, KY on November 13, 1919 to the late Thomas Clay and Frances Susan McElfatrick Stokes. 

She was a lifetime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Earlington, KY, and had been a member of the Loch Mary Garden Club.

She was a homemaker and had graduated from Bowling Green School of Business.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Lloyd Davis, in 2007; a daughter, Theresa Davis Higgins; a grandson, James Andrew Davis; and two brothers: Richard David Stokes and Kenneth Jackson Stokes.

She is survived by two children: Dr. Susan Davis and her husband, Tom Santos, of Topsfield, MA and John Allen Davis and his wife, Velma, of Madisonville, KY; twelve grandchildren: John Allen Davis III, Amy Higgins, Matthew Davis, Joshua Davis, Hanna Davis, Sarai Davis Hicks, Abram Davis, Michael Davis, Peter Davis, Paul Davis, Barbara Santos, and Jack Santos; and twenty-three great grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 10:00am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Earlington, KY with Father Lee Jirovsky officiating and burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Earlington, KY.

Visitation will be on Monday, January 22, 2018 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm with recitation of the Rosary at 6:00pm at Reid-Walters Funeral Home and from 8:00 am until 9:30 Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
