Susie Marie (Parker) Jones

Susie Marie Parker Jones, 79, of Earlington, KY passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018.

She was born June 11, 1938 in Dalton, KY to the late V.G. and Nettie Barton Parker.

She graduated Dalton Highschool in 1956 and worked at Hopkins County Hospital until she married Franklin P. Jones in November of 1957 and moved to Frankfort, KY for ten years.

In the past, she enjoyed baby sitting with her grandchildren and was very active in the PTA when her children were in school.

She spent a lot of time volunteering at the Christian Food Bank, Long term Relief Org. and St. Vincent DePaul.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Madisonville, Earlington Civic Club and a Kentucky Colonel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, her husband, Franklin P. Jones in June of 2007 and a sister, Virginia Lindsey in November of 1998.

She is survived by her children: Terry and his wife, Paula Jones of Earlington, KY, Keith and his wife, Jo Anne Jones of Louisville, KY and Cindy Dugger and her husband, Larry of Madisonville, KY; eight grandchildren: Josh (Laurie) Jones of Earlington, KY, Melessa (David) Gilkey of Nortonville, KY, Robin (Maurice) Ferrell of West Hopkins, KY, Alan (Ashley) Jones of Nortonville, KY, Kristy Jones of Nortonville, KY, Eric Logan, Emily Logan, Nathaniel (Kristie) Jones of Lexington, KY; ten great grandchildren; four step grandchildren: Katie (Eric) Hill, Leslie (Nathan) Carman, Michael Dugger, Rush (Devan) Dugger; four step great grandchildren; one sister, Joyce (Henry) Choate of Clarksville, TN; six brothers: Billy (Phyllis) Parker of Sturgis, KY, Jim (Alice) Parker of West Hopkins, KY, Jackie (Tresa) Parker of Dawson Springs, KY, Paul (Teresa) Parker of Marion, KY, Jerry (Connie) Parker of Calvert City, KY, David (Gayle) Parker of West Hopkins, KY,  and a large number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 12:00pm at First Christian Church in Madisonville, KY with Rev. Kara Foster officiating and burial to follow at New Suthards Cemetery in Suthards, KY.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY and from 10:00 am until service time on Thursday at the church.
