Marty D. Cook, 56, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at his home.
He was born in Hopkinsville, KY June 29, 1962.
He had an eighteen year career at Hopkins County Central High School beginning as a Guidance Counselor and then became Assistant Principal. Prior to his career in education, he was a coalminer.
He was a Kentucky Colonel and a polished male with the Polished Man Campaign.
Marty supported any activity his children participated in.
He was a fan of Science Fiction and listening to ScareFest Podcasts. He enjoyed going to Comic Con conventions and he would cosplay as Colonel Sanders.
He was an actor with Big Biting Pig Productions.
Marty was a sponsor for Teen Outreach and the Academic Team at the Hopkins County Central High School.
He had donated 6 ¾ gallons of blood to the Baptist Health Blood Bank in his lifetime.
Marty is survived by his wife, Tandy Dawn Cook of Madisonville, KY; his three children: Katherine Young and her husband, Kody, of Madisonville, KY, Daniella Runkel and her husband, Jacob, of Madisonville, KY, and Thomas Cook and his wife, Laura, of Nortonville, KY; one sister, Doris Cook of Greenville, KY; three grandchildren: Oliver Cook, Isabelle Cook, and Adaline Runkel ;and three nieces.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 1:00pm at the Byrnes Auditorium ( 750 Laffoon St. Madisonville, KY 42431); Master of Ceremony will be Lewis Chaney.
Visiting times will be from 11:00am until service time at 1:00pm at Byrnes Auditorium.
