John Evan Royal, Sr.

John Evan Royal, Sr.,78, of Ilsley, KY passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018 at his home.

He was born in Ilsley, KY on Saturday, April 6, 1940 to the late Harrison Edmond Royal and Maeleasure Ellen Johnston Royal. 

He had worked as a coal miner for Realto Mine and as an Oil Rig Driller for Daugherty Oil Company

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherri Elaine Royal Plunkette; and two half-brothers: David Wayne Greer and Thomas Ray Greer.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Royal of Ilsley, KY; five children: John Royal, Jr. of Ilsley, KY, Timothy Andrew Royal of Ilsley, KY, Sandra Kay Johnson of Dawson Springs, KY, Steven Wayne Royal of Ilsley, KY, and Susan Denise Royal of Dawson Springs, KY; two brothers: William Andrew Royal of Sparta, IL and Robert Earl Royal of Ilsley, KY; twelve grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren;  and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY.

Funeral services will be private at a later date.
