Betty Lou Falk Winfree, 85, of Mortons Gap, KY passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville.
She was born in Nashville, TN on July 17, 1933 to the late Talbert “T.C.” Clarence Falk and Lidia Lavonia Webster Falk.
She was a member of Mortons Gap Christian Church, and she had been a Councilwoman in Mortons Gap for many years.
She had worked as a secretary at the Hopkins County Board of Education. She had owned Betty’s Beauty Shop in Mortons Gap. She loved flea markets and had a booth, Momma Lou’s Flea Market Treasures, at Luke’s Flea Market in Greenville.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Woody Winfree and one son, Jeffrey Lynn Oglesby.
She is survived by two children: JoBeth Appleby of Mortons Gap, KY and Broc Oglesby of White Plains, KY; one step-daughter, Leslie Kessler of Hopkinsville, KY; eleven grandchildren: Katie Appleby, Kody Appleby, J.T. Oglesby, Joey Oglesby, Chris Oglesby, Timmy Oglesby, Ashely Oglesby, Amie Oglesby, April Oglesby, Matt Oglesby, and Clinton Oglesby; eighteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Funeral services will be Monday, September 24, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY with Rev. Steve Sandefur officiating and burial to follow at Salem Church Cemetery in Mortons Gap, KY.
Visitation will be on Monday, September 24, 2018 from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Kody Appleby, J.T. Oglesby, Joey Oglesby, Matt Oglesby, Chris Oglesby, and Timmy Oglesby.
