Alfred Vaden Thompson

Alfred Vaden Thompson, 87, of Earlington, KY went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 24, 2017 surrounded by his family at his home. He was born in Earlington, KY on June 7, 1930 to the late John and Cora Miller Thompson. 

He attended Eagle Rock Tabernacle in St. Charles, KY.

He was a retired UMWA coal miner and had owned rental property in Hopkins County, KY.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Mae Lee Thompson in 2012, four brothers, and three sisters.

He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca McIntosh and her husband, Mike, of Madisonville, KY; two sons: Tommy Thompson and his wife Rita, of Madisonville, KY, and Willie Thompson and his wife, Teresa of Madisonville, KY; seven grandchildren: Adam Thompson and his wife, Shawna, Joseph Gray (Emily Space), Isaac Gray and his wife, Leah, Travis Thompson and his wife, Audrey, Michale Partee and her husband, Scott, Stephanie Miller and her husband, Nathaniel, and Tessie Thompson; sixteen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 1:00pm at Reid Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY with Bro. Thomas Byler officiating and burial to follow at Grapevine Cemetery in Madisonville, KY. Mr. Thompson’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Reid-Walters Funeral Home and from 10:00 am until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
