Ava Christine Spurlin, 69, of Morton’s Gap, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, March 17,2024 at her home in Morton’s Gap. She was born in Madisonville, Kentucky on December 5,1954 to the (late) James A. Spurlin and Virginia Brooks Spurlin.
She was a member of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, in Nortonville.
She had worked as a homemaker and drove a school bus for a while and had worked at GE in Madisonville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Carole Darlene Stewart.
She survived by two daughters: Ginger Christine (Bill) Hendrix, Morton’s Gap, Kentucky, and Jenna Lynn Willis, of Morton’s Gap, Kentucky, one sister: Linda Qualls, of Madisonville, Kentucky and two grandchildren; Evan Hendrix and Brendan Hendrix, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, in Nortonville, KY with Rev. Steve Rutherford officiating, and burial to follow at New Salem Cemetery in Nortonville, Kentucky.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM, at the church. Pallbearers will be Dusty Qualls, Darren Stewart, Bill Hendrix, Trevor Williams, Derek Stewart, Drew Stewart, and Aaron Qualls.
